Imagine waking up in a luxurious treehouse-style safari tent perched on a hill overlooking the hill country views of the Colorado River below you. Inside, you’ll find a hand-carved mango wood bed dressed in vibrant colors of another country, inviting you to sink into comfort. Just steps away, your private hot tub awaits, ready to soothe you under the stars. But this isn’t your typical hotel room—it’s an Indonesian-inspired safari tent on six acres of Texas paradise. If you’re looking for a romantic adults-only and pet-friendly place to reconnect and recharge, it’s the only glamping spot on the river in the Hill Country, brought to life by Denise Poteat and her husband, Scott Newman, the creative minds & builders behind Safari for the Soul Glamping in Marble Falls, Texas.
After moving back to Texas, Denise and Scott craved a place where they could create lasting memories and leave a legacy for their children. Being avid lake lovers, they searched until they found the perfect piece of land: six acres in Marble previously owned by Camp Penile. When introduced to the idea of glamping by an industry veteran—a blend of glamour and camping—they were inspired to craft something extraordinary. With the help of two contractor friends, they personally built a stunning 400-square-foot safari tent that soon became a beloved passion project, eventually expanding their vision to include four more safari tents and six acres on the Colorado River in Marble Falls.
Glamping at Safari for the Soul is not just camping with comfort; it’s an emotional journey into nature that rejuvenates the soul. Each accommodation is a masterpiece of eclectic uniqueness and tranquility. Take the Tentation Yurt in Spicewood, for example—it offers a whimsical treehouse vibe with 400 square feet of air-conditioned splendor, complete with beautiful hill country views and a chance to see deer grazing nearby while hanging out in the outside shower. Then there’s the Starry Nights Yurt in Marble Falls, perfectly positioned for stargazing or enjoying a glass of wine by the riverbank. If you seek privacy, the Cosmic Nights Yurt is an oasis with an impressive king-sized bed, an Indonesian-inspired design, a 6-person hot tub, and an outside movie projector perfectly positioned to watch a movie and feel the fire while in the hot tub. Or choose the Moonlight Magic Yurt, where you can drift off in a regal four-poster bed, lulled by the sights and sounds of nature surrounding you and the sunset on the river.
