Solid minivan with lots of useable space.
The VW ID. Buzz is powered by a single electric motor, with rear wheel drive. It features a 9lK W h (gross) Lithium-ion battery pack with four-wheel independent suspension, delivering 8 MPGe combined city-highway.
The Buzz goes from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, besting Odyssey by 1-second. Charging time is 9-hours (240 V) with a range of 234-miles.
Inside touch buttons are located on the steering wheel and infotainment center, with HVAC controls. Frankly, there were just too many buttons for my taste. I prefer small and larger knobs when possible.
The VW ID. Buzz has a relaxed demeanor, with a warm, airy and welcoming cabin. With a wink and a nostalgic nod to the 1960s vans that became “flower children” icons, the 2025 all-electric Buzz boasts updated technology that places it firmly in the modern world.
Sirius XM 9-speaker surround sound system Bluetooth Connectivity sets the interior mood. The 12.9-inch multifunctional center display provides the path for reaching such amenities as three-zone automatic climate control and advanced air filter.
The tilt and telescoping adjustable steering column with touch controls gets you started. VW Buzz’s remarkable front center console features flexible storage areas and provides an abundance of room for personal items.
A great deal of supportive comfort is provided by the ID. Buzz Captain’s chairs for the first and second rows, with quasi- captain setup for the third row. Third row seats feature a removable 50/50 split, which folds down flat for even more storage.
The power window set up is a little challenging, while operating the rear sliding is not easily managed. This people mover Volkswagen has a width of 78.1-inches, height of 76.2-inches and span of 131.1-inches. You could seat the Dallas Cowboy offensive line, plus throw in a few of the Cowboy cheerleaders, and still have a comfortable environment. Possibly some embarrassing moments, though.
- Buzz rests on 20-inch wheels with all season tires. Power folding heated power adjustable side mirrors complement the front lighting system. Rear wipers and intermittent front wipers, running lights and LED taillights are also featured.
The MSRP for the 2025 VW ID. Buzz Pro S is $61,545.
